Lyrics

Ever since I can remember, I have LOVED listening to the words of songs. When I was in highschool, I developed my love for country music. I felt like most of the songs sung by the artists told a story ... somehow, I tried to find my story in thier lyrics.

If Tomorrow Never Comes .... Oh, Garth - you knew that I wanted to date that boy, but I wasn't allowed to.

Bye Bye - Jodee Messina .... oh how you knew I WOULD be ok after he broke my heart.

Unanswered Prayers ... Garth - you knew that I was praying, but I hoped my unanswered prayers would prove to be better than what I wanted.

Love Me - had the Collin Raye CD and this was my favorite song on there...

Expose' --- Micheal W. Smith -- Billy Ray Cyrus (Just kidding) ... all of them had songs that told stories of what I was going thru ... how I wanted to feel ... what I'd like to do ...

My daughter does this differently, she puts herself in roles in movies and TV shows. I have never done this ... but, maybe this is her relating to life - maybe finding songs that told my stories was the way I related.

Funny that I married a man who ministers to people thru song. I don't think music does the same to him. Probably b/c he is more concentrating on the tone/quality of thier voice and breathing rather than than the words. I think everyone has different things that tug on thier heart strings .... mine is music.

So, today I was cleaning out clothes and cleaning bathrooms - and I had this song on my iPod and I was just singing it over and over .....

If you have iTunes - you should download it.

Can't Live A Day .. by Avalon
I could live life alone
And never fill the longings of my heart
The healing warmth of someone's arms
And I could live without dreams
And never know the thrill of what could be
With every star so far and out of reach
I could live without many things
and I could carry on, but...

I couldn't face my life tomorrow
Without Your hope in my heart I know
I can't live a day without You
Lord, there's no night and there's no morning
Without Your loving arms to hold me
You're the heartbeat of all I do
I can't live a day without You

I could travel the world
See all the wonders beautiful and new
They'd only make me think of You
And I could have all life offers
Riches that were far beyond compare
To grant my every wish without a care
Oh, I could do anything, oh yes
But if You weren't in it all...

Make Him your Hope today .... I am.

I would like to second everything you said, lyrics are my undoing. I love them, linger on them.

This is an awesome post, HH.

Love you so!

I love it!!!!! Oh how I did the same thing! Especially in high school! It seems that Stella Lucia and "little miss Heather look-a-like"
might be similar in there ways! She does the same thing :)

"Bye Bye Love, I'll catch you later! Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and a rear view mirror torn off cause I ain't ever looking back...and that's a fact!

I've tried all I can imagine, I've BEGGED and PLEADED in true lover's fashion, I've got pride, I'm taking it for a ride....bye, bye, bye, bye my baby bye bye!!!"

Oh how many times I sang that song at the top of my lungs thinking of my lead foot LITERALLY as I drove 75 south to Gainesville....Wow was he not the one for me!!!!
