i don't have much to add honestly. i will say that i am concentrating a lot on my relationship with the Lord right now. i feel like my faith is all that i have to cling to with security. there was a time in my life where i prayed (i think i mentioned this in 25 things) that the Lord would be with me if anything MAJOR ever happened in my life b/c i've never really, truly felt like i have had anything necessarily 'bad' happen to me. to be honest, i didn't know if i would approach a trial with how could you God? or if i would tackle it with GOD - help me!
so, i am finding out that it is a little of both.
it's a little less 'how could you' and a little more ... 'why me'.
there are a lot of 'Jesus HELP ME!' moments thrown in throughout the day.
i'm getting to know Him in a way i've never really had to. getting to know Him as my strength to face the day of uncertainties and new challenges. getting to know Him as my security in a world where i constantly hear about layoffs and bad economic times. getting to know Him as my Savior from dark places. i'm getting to know Him as a person who has entrusted me .. with this time. this trial. this place. this 'gift'.
knowing - with full certainty - that our family will emerge victorious. knowing that no matter what happens - JESUS is with me. HE guides me. HE leads me. HE is holding my hand.
knowing - that he sees this part of my life as a paragraph in a big book. and he is teaching me to see it as that ... not the end of a story. but, just a paragraph in a big book that has a great ending.
if any of you who are losing heart - don't.
if any of you are recoiling from afflictions - see them as His most favored gifts.
if any of you are questioning - remember that He is omnipotent - He is able to bend time and events in our favor.
be encouraged today.

Amen to everything you said, girl. Love ya!
When we lost Emmie, I found myself asking "why me?" a lot. Then, after a while, I started to think, "well, why NOT me?" It's a subtle shift from feeling like a victim to realizing that in the big picture, everyone has suffering, and being a Christian did not exclude me from it. You are RIGHT on the money, honey! So proud of you, and so very thankful for your relationship to the Lord. Praying for you all the time!
lifting you up . . . watching God move in you. enjoy your trip!
beautiful post! all so true!
